Memphis Has a Music Festival in October?

YES. Memphis has a music festival in October, and it is the Moon River Music Festival.

It is from October 7-9, and it will take place at the beautiful, outdoor venue: The Levitt Shell (in Overton Park).

Presented by Drew Holcomb and supported by the Memphis community, this festival has evolved and grown throughout the years.

For the past two years, this music festival has been a single-day event. However, due to the overwhelming support from the community, this festival will now last two days this year: Saturday and Sunday (with a VIP option for Friday night).

Seniors at UT: Here’s Your Bucket List

Alright, you have made it to senior year at UT. Congrats.

Knoxville is a special, special place with so much to experience. Each year I was at UT, I learned about new places to go and things to get involved with on campus.

For starters, I did not even know how great the Farmer’s Market (in Market Square) was until my junior year. Or how many beautiful trails there were to hike. Or that the Old City was even a place. Talk about time wasted.

During my senior year, I made it my goal to try to experience as much of Knoxville as I possibly could. I was pretty successful with that, so I want to share some last-minute things you seniors need to know about.

Sick with the Bonnablues

Dr. Seuss once said, “Sometimes you will never know the true value of a moment until it becomes a memory.”

Right now, my memories are strong, and my Bonnablues are real.

The Bonnablues time is filled with flashbacks to the farm, putting away the camping gear, constantly remembering little amazing moments from the previous week, and let us not forget – forever itching chigger bites & rubbing aloe on gnarly sunburns.

Get Rhythm

As I grow older, I have acquired a number of experiences – good and bad – and sometimes I cannot really remember why they were good or bad… I simply remember that they were.

The good times are the times that I am surrounded by the ones I love; the times I just go with the flow instead of thinking of everything that could go wrong; the times I can just feel happiness in the air.

One of the best memories I have from this past spring was going to the Rhythm N’ Blooms Fest. My friends and I decided last minute that it sounded like a good time, so we bought tickets & went.

With that being said, greetings to all my fellow Knoxvillians! Get ready to boogie the weekend of April 8-10, 2016. Rhythm N’ Blooms Fest is going to be a blast!

Not surprisingly, the lineup thus far does not disappoint. (And there are more musicians TBA on Dec. 7th!)
