Weekend Rush

Welp. It was a sad, sad weekend for Vols’ fans…. as always…

We always hope for the best but expect the worst. This time was the worst, but we stay true to ole Tennessee.

Even though it was a bad day for the Vols – it was a good day for For The Kids @ UTK on Saturday, Sept. 13. I am currently serving on the entertainment executive committee for this amazing organization. This organization is one that raises money for the children that are on the Hematology and Oncology unit at the East Tennessee Children’s Hospital. We “can” on Pedestrian Walkway on certain home games in order to explain what FTK is & what it means to us, and we ask for donations to help fund these children.

It is such an eye-opening experience to be personally involved with such an incredible organization, and I absolutely love telling people about it.

In addition to canning and spreading the word before the game, we are hosting our Miracle Week on Wednesday and Thursday (Sept. 16 & 17). This event is another opportunity for us to spread awareness & raise funds FOR THE KIDS.

We will have a booth on Pedestrian Walkway, and there will be desserts & giveaways (along with cute posters – perfect for Instagram shots)!

In order to advertise for Miracle Week, a small group of the executive members got together & painted the rock. It was a great experience for us, and it will hopefully make people more interested in learning about & supporting FTK @ UTK.

Disclaimer: We were NOT the ones who directly painted over the amazing painting of Smokey. Our painting is pretty great but nowhere near close to that gorgeous masterpiece (S/O to @PaytonMarie03).
